Seed

When this sandwich was brought over to me, my first thought was "Wow, this looks intense". My second thought was "How can I eat all this?!". And finally, my third thought was "Ok ... now HOW do I eat this?"

It took some planning, cutting and taking out pieces of tofu but after my first bite I was sold. This sandwich is called the Southern Fried Poboy and with the menu was definitely a tough choice. I did, however, want to get a good sense of Southern cuisine. I have had a lot of good vegan food on my journey thus far but Seed is definitely my favorite! It was so amazing that I brought my friends for breakfast the following morning where I had both blueberry pancakes and a side of macaroni and cheese. The huevos rancheros that my friend ordered was also so tasty! Yes, this is a 100% vegan restaurant!

Once you are done eating, take a look through next door where you will find a vegan shop as well! I, myself, bought myself a "happy vegan" tote bag that has been attached to me ever since! While there, pick up a vegan guide to Nola! Such a convenient and helpful guide to places to eat while sight seeing.

The Crepe Cart

After eating at Seed, I had no set plans to eat anywhere else. Luckily walking around the French Quarter and other areas of Nola, we got a bit hungry. Then we saw the Crepe Cart! They had a whole vegan menu with many options that were each mouthwatering; both savory and sweet. I opted for sweet this time around with freshly shaved coconut, banana, cinnamon and walnuts.

With a little bit more sight seeing to do before I left, I made the choice that I obviously needed to taste a savory option as well. I mean ... I needed dinner right? Why not a crepe for dinner!? For my savory, I decided on the pesto and tomato. Goes without saying, I am glad I got to try both. I am very happy with my vegan picks for Nola and the rest of the country will have a harder time impressing me because of it!
