Vegan picks: Asheville, NC

It is very easy to be vegan in Asheville! Vegan restaurants, vegan options and grocery stores all know where it's at. There are so many great places, but here are my picks:

Rosetta's Kitchen http://rosettaskitchen.com/

The atmosphere gives off the funky/hippie vibe that I love with both an upstairs and downstairs option; the latter being the more finer setting. As I opened the menu I was overwhelmed and immediately aware of why my friends had brought me here first...so many wonderful options to choose from! I decided on their signature dish, which was rightly named "Family Favorite" that consisted of: peanut butter baked organic tofu, sautéed kale, smashed potatoes served with our signature gravy. Needless to say, I will be dreaming of this dish in the future!

I came back to Rosetta's a few days later for a quick snack and to, of

course, taste their classic grilled cheese with Daiya. I again was not

disappointed! The side of cole slaw was a perfect compliment of crunch and cool compared to the hot and cheesy sandwich.

Before I left, I added my "mark" to the public board as my own personal validation that is a must when in Asheville!

The Hop http://thehopicecreamcafe.com/

This is a local favorite, especially for vegans, and another stop I happily made twice. And here is why:

A whole section dedicated to us! My first visit, I went for a classic chocolate/banana/peanut butter shake with almond milk. My second go around I wanted to try one of their unique flavors so I opted for an almond milk shake using their earl grey with biscoff cookies. So if you go for a classic or a unique flavor, you will not be disappointed!

Everyone loves mexican food, right? Well, for vegans it can be tough. Not here though! This is a make your own place with 3 different veg options to choose from as a base. As I was recommended, I chose a burrito with the citrus marinated tofu. Where do I get this recipe?? I was so entranced by my meal that I failed to take a picture of it it was so mouth watering! But take my word for it, make a stop here and you won't regret it!

Vortex Donuts http://vortexdoughnuts.com/

I saved the best for last...the amazing vegan donuts! 'Nuff said! On my way out of town I fully plan on stopping for the vegan fritters for the road :)
